Welcome
Hello, jb_fr here. I am an amateur botanist based in France. My main areas of interest are monilophytes (ferns and horsetails) and hybridization among plant species. I also enjoy observing bryophytes (mosses) although their identification is often challenging.
I created this website to store my observation photographs and some notes for reference in the field. There are currently around 4,500 plant photographs covering more than 800 taxa.
I also photograph insects, fungi, or other life forms that I encounter during my field trips. They account for another 300 photographs and 100 taxa. However, my knowledge in areas outside of botany is very limited, so please take these identifications with a grain of salt.
I do not include the exact locations or dates of observations, but most of them are made in the Haute-Garonne (31), Tarn (81), and Tarn-et-Garonne (82) departments.
If you are looking for a specific species, use the search field above. It accepts both scientific names and common names. A sitemap is available too. You may also want to consult the legend and the list of abbreviations used on the site if you are not familiar with them.
If you have any question or comment, you can send me an email. I am also a contributor on iNaturalist.
