Possible confusion with many species of the genus Oenothera. The stem punctuated with red, the sepals striped with red, and the style much longer than the stamens allow for the identification of O. glazioviana.
The following infraspecific taxa are accepted:
- O. glazioviana f. glazioviana Micheli, 1875, I;
- O. glazioviana f. rubricalyx (R.R.Gates) Lambinon, 2004.
Hybridizes with O. biennis L., 1753 to produce O. × fallax Renner, 1917, I.
Named after Auguste François Marie Glaziou (1828-1906), a French landscape designer and botanist.
