Notes
Often planted in flower beds, some cultivars exhibit very good resistance to prolonged drought and cold. The flowers can be white or pink.
Possible confusion with O. gaura W.L.Wagner & Hoch, 2007, which has flowers with shorter petals (6-15 mm) and villous stems, while O. lindheimeri has flowers with longer petals (12-20 mm) and strigose stems.
Named after Ferdinand Jacob Lindheimer (1801-1879), a German American botanist.
