Notes
Possible confusion with many species of the genus Fumaria. The sepals wider than the corolla and the 10-12 mm long white flowers with a purple tip allow for the identification of F. capreolata.
The flowers usually turn purple during their life cycle, and those at the bottom of the flower clusters point downwards.
The following infraspecific taxa are accepted:
- F. capreolata subsp. babingtonii (Pugsley) P.D.Sell, 1963;
- F. capreolata subsp. capreolata
- var. capreolata L., 1753, P;
- var. devoniensis Pugsley, 1912.
Hybridizes with:
- F. barnolae subsp. barnolae Sennen & Pau, 1917 to produce F. × burnatii Verg., 1904, P;
- F. officinalis L., 1753 to produce F. × franchetii E.G.Camus, 1896, P.
