Notes
Possible confusion with V. sublobata M.A.Fisch., 1967, which has pale lilac flowers whose corolla is shorter than the calyx, while V. hederifolia has pale blue flowers whith a white area at the base of the petals, and whose corolla is the same size or slightly shorter than the calyx.
The following infraspecific taxa are accepted:
- V. hederifolia subsp. hederifolia L., 1753, P;
- V. hederifolia subsp. insularis Gamisans, 1992.
