Notes
The flowers are typically red, but they can also be blue.
Possible confusion of the blue-flowered individuals with L. foemina (Mill.) U.Manns & Anderb., 2009, which has flowers whose petals are bordered with few or no glandular hairs, while those of L. arvensis have petals bordered with more than 30 glandular hairs.
Blue flowered-individuals are very rare, and the presence of many blue-flowered and red-flowered individuals of Lysimachia in an area almost always mean a mixed population of L. arvensis and L. foemina.
Hybridizes with L. foemina (Mill.) U.Manns & Anderb., 2009 to produce L. × intermedia (Giraudias) B.Bock, 2012, P.
