Notes
Possible confusion with C. arboreus Greene, 1886, which has pale blue or white flowers, and larger, more rounded leaves.
Possible confusion with C. impressus Trel., 1888, which has deep blue flowers, and smaller, more rounded leaves.
The use of the genus Ceanothus as an ornamental plant with numerous cultivars can make the identification of the exact species quite delicate.
