Notes
Possible confusion with P. cuspidatum (Schrad.) T.J.Kop., 1968, whose leaves only have teeth in their upper part, while those of P. affine have teeth on the whole margin.
Possible confusion with P. rostratum (Schrad.) T.J.Kop., 1968, which has creeping stems attached to the substrate by rhizoids, while P. affine has erect stems.
Found on the soil in woodland, in moist and shady places such as crevices or ditches. Also found on leaning trees that retain rainwater.
