Notes

Invasive species whose possession and transport are strictly prohibited in Metropolitan France. Decaploid (2n = 80).

Sometimes treated as a subspecies of L. grandiflora (Michx.) Greuter & Burdet, 1987, under the name L. grandiflora subsp. hexapetala (Hook. & Arn.) G.L.Nesom & Kartesz, 2000. Separation of the taxa is based on ploidy level, L. grandiflora being hexaploid (2n = 48).
