Notes

Possible confusion with F. grandiflora Robert, 1838, whose flowers have broad petals (> 6mm), while those of F. verna have narrow petals (≤ 6 mm).

Included into the Ranunculus genus by POWO. Phylogenetic studies support keeping this taxon in a separate Ficaria genus (Paun et al., 2005; Emadzade et al., 2010).
