Notes
Form whose leaves and fruits - even immature ones - are dark-purple. Discovered in Persia by Ernest François Pissard (1850-1934), a French gardener, and originally described under the name P. pissardii Carrière, 1881.
Widely planted as an ornamental tree, and marketed as cultivar ‘Pissard’ and derivatives.
