Notes

Possible confusion with other species of the A. trichomanes complex. The abruptly narrowing fronds which follow the crevices or asperities of the surface on which the plant grows, the thick black rachis, the crenate, elongated, and overlapping pinnae, and the barely reduced terminal segment allow for the identification of A. harovii.

Basiphilous species that grows on calcareous and dolomitic rocks, scree slopes, and old brick or limestone walls. Tetraploid (2n = 144). Previously treated as a subspecies of A. trichomanes L., 1753 under the name A. trichomanes subsp. pachyrachis (Christ) Lovis & Reichst., 1980.
